Chartreuse wood grain, purple goliath beetles, and periwinkle almond shells on bundle dyed with berries and alkanet root linen.
This BTJ signature design is a lovely statement piece that can be layered or worn spring, summer and early fall.
4 pieces are made from the dyed and printed yardage, yet each is completely unique because the pattern lays differently on each piece.
The process starts with washed medium weight linen. The fabric is dyed over the course of a week using natural materials, foraged or collected by BTJ. The color description of the piece describes what was used to dye the fiber, but each garment with come with a written description of the process and what was used. The fabric is then silkscreened by hand. Each color layered down is a 2-4 step process. Most pieces require 9-16 print sessions. Finally, then sewn in house for a truly one of a kind number.
Two sizes available, but most people enjoy the larger size. It being slightly cropped, it doesn't look frumpy, the linen will get softer and softer with time and wear. This is a very special piece.
