All Natural Indigo Vat to GO

Cute jars, full of reduced indigo, ready to dye!  If you are both familiar or unfamiliar with indigo this could be for you. Sometimes we just don't have all the "stuff" needed to work with this wonder dye. With the ingredients mixed and ready all you need it to add it to a pot or bucket of water!

The fructose jars, you will need a nonreactive pot and bring the water to get a higher temperature (110-140). The iron jars you will only need a bucket of room temperature water.

Small jars come with 20g indigofera tinctoria

Medium jars come with 30g indigofera tinctoria

Large jars come with 40g indigofera tinctoria

Estimated sizes: small kit 1-2 gallon, medium 3-4 gallons, large 5-6 gallons.

(For returning students; we create a 30g vat in a 7(6)gallon vat. That's a Ton for 6 people to dye minimally 3 pieces at each.)

The small jar will dye 1 kg (2.2 lbs) of fiber a light to medium shade of blue. It's a good size to just try out indigo for the first time or dye a smaller item. You can also use this size to refresh your larger vat.

The large jar will dye 2 kg (4.5 lbs) of fiber a dark blue, and there will be enough indigo left in this vat to dye other items a slightly lighter shade, too. (The dye baths will get lighter as you dip more and more.) Medium size somewhere in between.

Choose a few things to dye and it becomes an extra special gift. Make sure to mention it in the notes if it is one.
