Henna Natural Dye Powder

Botanical Name: Lawsonia Inermis, also known as hina, the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet, is a flowering plant and the sole species of the genus Lawsonia. It is native to northern Africa, Asia and Australia and the dye is obtained from its leaves. Henna bonds well with protein fabrics, hence is used to dye skin (mendhi) and hair. On leather, silk and wool it gives you browns and black with addition of iron. On plant based fabrics light yellow greens and grey with iron. It has many medicinal and cooling properties too. It is used as a coagulation for open wounds and poultice made with henna leaves works to soothe burns and some eczema, but it being a skin dye, watch out!
