In this extended series of Blockprinting on Textiles get a more involved and thorough look into this fun process. All students start by carving a smaller "soft carve" block and print the first day away, while also starting to carve a linoleum block for their second day. Day 2 focuses on printing yardage while we speak about all the possibilities this medium has to offer. 2 yards of muslin plus sample pieces are provided for each student so you do not have to bring any materials, just your ideas. Although each attendee can bring their own textiles and should be able to print 2-5 yards depending on complexity of pattern desired.
Specific requirements will be sent to attendees two weeks beforehand. Each student will receive a soft block in the size of 3"x4" (which can be cut smaller or into two) and a linoleum block in the size of 4"x5" or two smaller. Artworks can be as large as the block's maximum size, but not required to be. The soft carve block can be used to create a two-color or multiple images, because it can be cut up into smaller pieces.
We won't take a full hour lunch unless everyone wants to, but there will be 30 min break where everyone will leave the space to either grab food or take a walk.
