Stitching Resists with Natural Indigo, is a succession to the beginner shibori, this intermediate/advanced workshop is welcome to those who are familiar with hand stitching or are interested in furthering their shibori skills. This is a great slow paced class to focus on this tedious style of dye resist.
Nui, Ori-Nui, Maki-Nui, Mame, and Boshi will be shown, and students should be comfortable with a needle but being a pro is not necessary. A fructose indigo vat starter will be shown, before adding to a warm vat style.
Since the stitching will take some time and students bringing natural fiber pieces should be smaller. Make sure the items are about the size of a bandana or small scarf. We will have one available for you, if you don't want to bring anything. More information is sent the week of your class.
