2 DAYS Stitching Resists with Natural Indigo
The art of shibori, Japanese dyeing techniques, is extensive and in this class we'll focus solely on hand stitching. A succession to the beginner shibori, this intermediate workshop is welcome to those who are familiar with hand stitching or are interested in creating an all natural "real" indigo vat.
Nui, Ori-Nui, Maki-Nui, Mame, and Boshi will be shown, and students should be comfortable with a needle but being a pro is not necessary.
Since the stitching will take some time and students bringing natural fiber pieces should be smaller. Make sure the items are about the size of a bandana or small scarf. We will have one available for you, if you don't want to bring anything.
