There are so many resist styles that have been used around the world. There are interesting ways to create texture and pattern on your fabrics. In this workshop we will experiment with most of them and talk about who uses what.
Over 2 sessions (either a full day or two days) we'll layer color and pattern using wax, different flour pastes, clays, and painting with dyes and simple resists.
We'll work with a variety of resists that benefit from maximum dry time, play with wax and dip that piece in an organic indigo vat, use brayers and screens to add texture, and set up our thickener for painting with dyes.
Low immersion, painting with dye, and pour over techniques will be shown.
