Tote with Fruit or Veggie Patch

I first start by silkscreening my fabric. This is a 10oz cotton canvas printed with metallic gold Mandelbrot or fractal and my "fancy chickens" in turquoise.

A patch is hand sewn to the lined pocket on the outside and is 7 inch x 7 inch. These patches were picked up at a tiny notions shop in Xela, Guatemala and were handmade by the Mayan women who ran the shop. They are pretty special. I love mixing my own work with those handmade by others, I find while traveling.

I have sewn each piece and there are only 7 made. Each piece is completely unique, because of a different patch on each pocket, but also the print lays differently on each tote.

The total size of the tote bags is 14 inch x 14 inch, but the bottom is gusseted 5 inches wide so the full length is about 16.5 inches. The straps are 24" long and double folded and sewn twice, ensuring they are durable yet comfortable. They rest of your shoulder, but some may be able to get the straps over head and across the chest.
