Indigo Dyed Osnaburg Printed with Crayfish and Almond Shells:
45" x 60" Hand-stitched shibori techniques used and then hand-dyed in indigo dye. Thoroughly washed 3 times and fixed. Then I hand silkscreened 2/3 times, layering the different images; of metallic mauve almond shells and scarlet red crayfish. Images/patterns are original designs of mine, that are hand drawn, original photographs, or digitally manipulated objects. Prereduced Indigo dyed, 100% Osnaburg Cotton all natural medium/light weight "linen like" fabric, silk screened by hand. Backing; undyed osnaburg cotton.
Indigo Dyed Linen Printed with Goats Fawn Makings Coconuts:
96"x 43" Hand-dyed smooth all natural linen in REAL organic indigo dye. Thoroughly washed 3 times and fixed. Then I hand silkscreened teal coconuts and mustard yellow fawn markings. Then blockprinted with goat heads. The lining is a cotton sateen ecru color fabric that is very comfortable.
Anti Dyed Black Linen with Chicken and Skull Print:
50" x 66" First I hand "anti dyed" the linen in color remover using shibori folding and sewing techniques. Then I hand silkscreened 2/3 times, layering the different images; of metallic gold grooming chickens and teal boar skulls. Images/patterns are original designs of mine, that are hand drawn, original photographs, or digitally manipulated objects. Backing is 100% osnaburg cotton, which is often called a "peasants" clothe. I hand dyed two pieces in organic (100% natural) indigo vat, thoroughly washed them, then pieced them into larger piece.
Each piece is set in high heat so the textile ink I print with is washable. But the batting used is not pinned, so dry cleaning is ultimately suggested.
Batting: one layer of recycled poly fiber batting.
