Juglans nigra, the eastern American black walnut, is a species of deciduous tree in the walnut family, Juglandaceae, native to North America.
We love to use it in our bundle dyeing projects. It gives our favorite reich brown. It's also a great way to get black with the addition of ferrous sulfate.
Luckily this tree grows in our region. So in the fall it is pretty easy to collect if you know someone with a problem tree in their yard. Our dye comes right from the Catskills region!
Packaged in a 4oz glass Ball jar
