Flour, wax, gum, and glue are all really interesting ways to create texture and pattern on your fabrics. In this two day workshop we will experiment with all of them.
Day one we'll work with a variety of resists that benefit from maximum dry time, play with wax and dip that piece in an organic indigo vat, use brayers and screens to add texture, and set up our thickener for painting with dyes.
Day two will be a dye day! Low immersion, painting with dye, and pour over techniques will be shown. We introduce wax again as resist to layer our colors and designs as well.
